The Government of Canada has announced significant financial backing for eight tourism initiatives in the Gaspésie region, aimed at driving economic growth and enhancing the area’s appeal as a travel destination. The $2,108,200 investment is intended to diversify tourism offerings, attract more visitors, and create local jobs, solidifying Gaspésie’s status as a must-visit location known for its natural beauty, varied accommodations, and unique cultural experiences.
The Government of Canada has announced significant financial backing for eight tourism initiatives in the Gaspésie region, aimed at driving economic growth and enhancing the area’s appeal as a travel destination. The $2,108,200 investment is intended to diversify tourism offerings, attract more visitors, and create local jobs, solidifying Gaspésie’s status as a must-visit location known for its natural beauty, varied accommodations, and unique cultural experiences.
The funding was announced by the Honourable Soraya Martinez Ferrada, Minister of Tourism and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED), alongside the Honourable Diane Lebouthillier, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans, and the Canadian Coast Guard. The financial contributions will support eight organizations that play a crucial role in the regional economy, including Corporation du Bourg de Pabos Inc., Chalets Nautika Gaspé, Panora Loges Fluviales, Village en chanson de Petite-Vallée, Les Aventures Gaspésiennes Inc., Musique du Bout du Monde, Les chalets Valmont, and Choc Événements.
This strategic investment underscores the government’s commitment to fostering sustainable economic development in Quebec, emphasizing the importance of community-driven organizations in building a resilient and inclusive economy.
