Over 400 tourists are currently stranded in Sajek, Rangamati, due to the Kabakhali-Baghaihat road being flooded by a sudden influx of water from upstream.
On Friday night, Shirin Akter, the executive officer of Baghaichhari Upazila, confirmed the situation. She stated that the issue arose due to heavy rainfall and upstream water flow.
Efforts are being coordinated to ensure the safety and well-being of the stranded tourists. Local authorities are closely monitoring the situation and providing necessary support.

Local reports indicate that continuous rainfall has led to the submersion of Kabakhali Road and Baghaihat market road in Dighinala, located in the Khagrachari district. This flooding has resulted in numerous tourists becoming stranded in the area.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shirin Akhtar reported that 34 tourists arrived in Sajek on Friday, joining the 350 already present, bringing the total number of stranded tourists to approximately 400.
She emphasized that, given the current circumstances, authorities are advising against any new visits to Sajek until conditions improve.
Efforts are being made to assist those already in Sajek, ensuring their safety and providing necessary support during this challenging time.
