Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, has launched two groundbreaking initiatives aimed at enhancing the skills of human resources in luxury coastal resorts and travel agencies to align with the highest international standards in luxury coastal tourism services.

The first of these initiatives trained 1,059 participants, including HR personnel and students involved in significant projects like Red Sea Global, Cruise Saudi, and NEOM. This training, part of the second Tourism Trailblazers Program, concentrated on enhancing customer service and safety protocols.

The second initiative fostered cooperation between the public and private sectors by partnering the Ministry with the Authority to identify top talent from luxury coastal resorts and tourism agencies specializing in luxury cruises. These professionals underwent an advanced training program on a European cruise ship, accredited by Plymouth University and facilitated by Dale Carnegie UK, under the supervision of Umm Al-Qura University. This program aimed to provide the trainees with essential hospitality skills, focusing on guest service excellence and managing hospitality operations on board.

These efforts demonstrate the Ministry of Tourism and SRSA’s dedication to developing skilled national workforce in the coastal tourism industry, crucial to transforming Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coastline into a premier destination for coastal tourism. By 2030, SRSA aims to create over 210,000 jobs and contribute more than 85 billion SAR to the national GDP.
