Tourism Australia together with Tourism Western Australia in June 2024 had invited eight member agents from three Muslim consortia agencies on a familiarisation trip. A familiarization trip, alternatively known as FAM in short, is a trip specifically planned for social media influencers, conventional media, and bloggers to known more about a place, a hotel chain, a tourism operator, or a tourism board, and sometimes, all of them.
These eight member agents explored the points of interests in this familiarization trip like Fremantle Prison, Caversham Wildlife Park, and Swan Valley Mosque and Islamic Centre, with the route primarily aiming on Muslim-friendly attractions and facilities, making it easier for the travellers who are Muslims and Halal-conscious individuals to discover the beauty of this country at the same time respecting their beliefs and requirements.
The familiarization trip was mainly targeted to encourage the products of Western Australia for the Muslim population, with the main aim to perk up awareness of Australia as a destination that’s Muslim-friendly for all travellers from Indonesia.
AntaVaya Umroh, Cheria Holiday Ramah Umroh & Halal Tour and other participating agencies were seen in the trip. From the trip, these agents returned with the experience to create ready-to-sell packages, bundled with lucrative charges from airlines partners.
