15 million viewers in Japan watched Gold Coast-shot series

On silver screen in Japan, the Gold Coast was shone to around 15 million people in during the time of the premiere of season two of TBS Network drama series, Black Forceps. Seishiro Tokai depicts the role of a haughty surgeon, working at a university hospital. He finds himself in a problematic situation when he goes against the introduction of a new medical device in surgery.

Made in consultation with Tourism Australia, Experience Gold Coast and Qantas Airways, Tourism and Events Queensland, the capturing of the return episode of the hit series’ took place across 10 days on the Gold Coast, displaying various landmarks of this major Australian tourist destination like The Star Gold Coast, Surfers Paradise, and The Imperial Hotel among many others. It’s well-known for its long sandy coasts, surfing spots and intricate system of inland canals and waterways.

After showcasing on TBS, now Black Forcep’s season two is available on Netflix all over Asia, with the series slowly turning out to be Netflix’s the most streamed show in Japan.

The Gold Coast stars in the episode, as the most desirable destination for an academic conference partaken by Seijiro Tokai, the series’ star surgeon played by Kazunari Ninomiya, Japan’s one of the most popular entertainers available at this moment. In September, the season two of Black Forceps will be available to stream in Australia.
