Kerala Tourism has announced the approval of a significant investment aimed at upgrading the infrastructure and tourist amenities at the internationally renowned Kovalam Beach. The department has sanctioned a budget of INR 3,66,83,103.65 for these developments.
Master Plan Implementation
The comprehensive project, titled ‘Action Plan for Enhancing Tourism Infrastructure in Kovalam Tourism Destination,’ aims at a thorough revamp of Kovalam Beach. This initiative is part of the broader Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) projects, which focus on the holistic development of infrastructure facilities and tourist amenities at Kovalam.
Approved Works
The Departmental Working Group on Plan Schemes, which met on July 8, approved the proposal for the immediate upgrade works. These works, which have received administrative sanction, are prioritized to be completed ahead of the overall Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board project completion. Site Preparation
Landscaping
Pavement Laying
Installation of Street Furniture
Renovation of Buildings
Street Lighting
Renovation of Restrooms
