The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) reported provisional visitor arrivals of 3.4 million in May, reflecting a 20% year-on-year increase. Mainland visitors made up 2.63 million of this total, marking a 15% rise from the same period last year. Non-Mainland visitors saw a significant 43% year-on-year growth, exceeding 770,000. From January to May, Hong Kong welcomed a total of 18 million visitors, an 80% increase compared to the same period last year.
