KL Wellness City: Pioneering Future of Health Tourism Since 2023

KL Wellness City, since June 2023, transforms healthcare tourism with IoT, aiming to boost Malaysia’s sector revenue to RM1.7 billion in 2024.

Since its spectacular debut in June 2023, KL Wellness City (KLWC) has been revolutionizing the integrated healthcare and wellness industry. This innovative urban project, featuring the premier KL International Hospital (KLIH) and The Nobel Healthcare Park, is set to transform the health tourism industry with its cutting-edge Internet of Things (IoT) technology.

Dato’ Sri Vincent Tiew, Executive Director of KL Wellness City, emphasized the importance of future-proofing the development with innovative technology infrastructure. “KLWC, designed to be IoT-ready, is committed to connectivity, enhancing the patient-centric experience for both local and international healthcare tourists. This aligns with the Ministry of Health’s vision for a digitally transformed healthcare system.”

With Malaysia’s health tourism revenues projected to hit RM1.7 billion in 2024, KLWC is poised to significantly boost this industry. By harnessing the latest technology, top-notch facilities, and focusing on patient well-being, KL Wellness City is on track to become a leading destination in global health and wellness tourism.

KLWC is integrating digital health concepts to optimize medical workflows, enhance data accessibility, and elevate the patient experience. The thirteen-floor KLIH is dedicated to fostering a sustainable and eco-friendly hospital environment, showcasing KLWC’s dedication to technological innovation and environmental stewardship.

Currently, both KLIH and The Nobel Healthcare Park have fully completed their foundational and substructural work, with KLIH’s main building construction set to start in the second quarter of 2024.

KL Wellness City ‘Blooming Dragon Year’ Celebrations

During a special event today, KL Wellness City celebrated the new year with notable achievements and the start of a month-long Chinese New Year celebration. The event promises a memorable experience with lively festivities, traditional performances, and interactive workshops.

The celebration will feature a variety of cultural workshops and performances every weekend, including Fengshui Talks, Chinese New Year Fitness sessions led by fitness guru Jordan Yeoh, Peranakan Cooking Demonstrations, Oriental Music Performances, and more. The event will reach its climax with a spectacular Acrobatic Lion Dance and immersive experiences that embody the festive atmosphere.

Dato’ Sri Vincent expressed excitement, inviting everyone to join in the celebrations. “This event reflects our commitment to cultural diversity and community engagement. It’s an opportunity for people of all backgrounds to come together and experience the richness of this auspicious festival.”

These festivities, held at the KL Wellness City Gallery in Bukit Jalil, are scheduled from January 16th to February 29th, 2024. Admission is free, inviting the entire community to share in the excitement and joy of the celebrations.
