Saudi Arabia is rolling out the red carpet for summer visitors with a vibrant program across seven destinations. This ambitious initiative, launched by the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA), aims to attract both domestic and regional tourists with a diverse range of events and attractions.
The four-month program, dubbed “Saudi Summer is Next Door,” kicks off in June and runs until September. Tourists can explore the rich cultural heritage and stunning natural beauty of seven locations: Aseer, Al Baha, Taif, the Red Sea (a new destination!), Jeddah, Riyadh, and AlUla.
Family-friendly fun is a major focus, with the return of the popular Jeddah Season and the launch of a new Aseer Season brimming with activities. Gamers will be thrilled with the Esports World Cup debuting in Riyadh, while boxing fans can catch exciting tournaments in both Riyadh and Jeddah.
“This program showcases Saudi Arabia’s potential as a world-class tourist destination,” declared Ahmed al-Khateeb, the Saudi Tourism Minister. He highlighted over 550 tourism products and 150 special offers catering to various interests, from adventure seekers to luxury vacationers and cultural enthusiasts.
Accessibility is a key feature. The program coincides with streamlined visa processes, including a discounted eVisa for citizens of 66 countries. Increased flight connections from Gulf cities to summer destinations further enhance ease of travel. Residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) can leverage their visas for multiple entries and stays of up to 90 days. Hotel room availability is also on the rise, with an anticipated addition of 25,000 rooms in 2024.
With its diverse offerings and commitment to accessibility, Saudi Arabia’s summer program promises an unforgettable experience for travelers from all walks of life.
